The miracle men carry on – just when it seemed that Leicester City would prove to be a rags to riches and back again story, the Foxes went ahead and defied expectations once more.
The Premier League champions have bounced back spectacularly with a 2-0 home win over Sevilla to progress to the Quarterfinals of the Champions’ League. This not only excited fans of English Football, but also provided former Tottenham forward Graham Roberts the chance to tweet with glee.
The ex-England striker took advantage of Leicester’s success to have a go at Spurs’ arch-rivals Arsenal and their infamous inability of recent years to make it past the Round of 16.
While Arsenals failure (and 10-2 aggregate loss to Bayern) seems even poorer in light of the Foxes’ achievement, Gunners’ supporters will no doubt point to Spurs’ own dismal campaign this year – knocked out in the group stages before losing to Gent in the Europa League – aside from the unremarkable runs in the last few years.
Pot Calling the Kettle Black, Mr. Roberts? Check out the tweet below:
Well done to Leicester they have gone further than Arsenal have done in the last 6-7 years hahaha
