Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter finals saw Jose Mourinho get defeated by his successor at the London club for the 2ndtime this season. Given the kind of manager Mourinho is, another loss to a man who has quickly won over the Stamford Bridge faithful would undoubtedly be hard to take.
And whilst Mourinho has largely avoided taking pot shots at Conte in public, he has not stopped talking about Chelsea, even taking a few veiled digs at them. Conte himself isn’t the type who says much in public, but it would undoubtedly have bothered him that a rival manager was taking shots at his club.
Thus, the speculation that the two had to be kept apart by players in the tunnel post the FA Cup fixture shouldn’t be much of a surprise. Both are fiery and passionate individuals and it’s easier to get lost in the moment after a game.
