Being a squad player in a side like Manchester United isn’t an easy task. Due to the sheer amount of top notch talent the club possesses, it is extremely hard for non-regulars to get a look in to the side. This is true even with the inclusion of tough away Europa League or domestic cup games.
Sergio Romero has it worse at Manchester United. Being a second choice goalkeeper often means little to no game time; it is even harder to get a regular look in when the first choice goalie is David De Gea, easily amongst the best in the world. However, Romero showed his quality against Rostov in the Europa League last night.
The Argentine shot stopper managed to pull off a spectacular save to deny Rostov from a free-kick. The shot was hit with perfect accuracy and seemed destined for the top corner but Romero successfully covered enough ground and pulled off a blinder that would make even De Gea proud.
