Leeds United’s chances of making the play-offs come the end of the season went significantly high with a 2-0 win over second placed Brighton. The move ensures they remain in fourth place for at least the time being, with just two points separating them from fifth paced Reading and a few more games to play.
The win at Elland Road was an easy one for Garry Monk’s men as a Chris Wood double saw the hosts run away with all three points. For Brighton it was an afternoon where nothing seemed to go their way, as a result of which they now sit a point behind league leaders Newcastle United in second place.
And it wasn’t only in the pitch that they lost. One unfortunate Brighton player found himself right in the middle of the Leeds fans due to momentum carrying him over the ad boards and into the seating section. He received an angry earful from the fans as well as a hard shove before he made his way out of there.
