Manchester City’s fans were on the receiving end of a witty riposte from one of the most popular football-related parody accounts in ‘Boring James Milner‘.
The fans at the Etihad Stadium were not shy in expressing their dislike for Milner, an ex-City player himself. As the boos reigned down upon the England man, twitter user @BoringMilner remarked on how vocal the home crowd was before making an allusion to City’s reported lack of local fans – an allegation rooted in sparse attendance records and a lack of fervent support for the blue half of Manchester.
While that would have undoubtedly irked the City supporters, Milner managed to net the first goal from the penalty spot as well – and the spoof Twitter user was quick to remind the City faithful of his name – well, not his name exactly.
A goal on the night and some decent banter off the pitch – busy night for James Milner indeed.
