Arsenal’s latest crisis has seen a lot of fans grow restless yet again. Planes have been flown over stadiums as calls for the resignation of Arsene Wenger have grown louder. Whilst this is something of a standard with certain Gooners, it’s plain for all to see that the club desperately needs some change.
Perhaps one of the biggest criticisms of Wenger’s side this season has been the lack of winning mentality evident in the players and the hard work required to grind out the results, the absolute necessities for a title-winning side.
Indeed, they looked lethargic in their latest loss to West Brom. However, an interesting graphic tweeted out by @_TomClarke of The Times has shown their waning work-rate is nothing new and has been happening for quite a bit of time now.
Indeed, since their 3-1 win over Stoke City on December 10th, Arsenal have been outran by all of the Premier League opponents. This is true regardless of the result; whether they won, lost or drew the game, Arsenal players have clocked in less kilometres than their rivals, a clear indication of their lack of work-rate .
