Pics: Familiar scenes as Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez launched himself into a fit of rage after Chile’s loss v Argentina

As rumours surrounding Alexis Sanchez’s future at Arsenal continue to abound and opinions are divided over his actions over the last few weeks, one thing is undeniable – his will to win is immense.

A champion’s mindset often involves a burning hatred of losing, and the Chilean certainly has that in spades. As his team lost a big World Cup Qualifier to Argentina to a solitary penalty goal from Lionel Messi, Sanchez was visibly upset.

Given the fact that Chile have beaten the Albiceleste in two consecutive Copa America finals and the latter seemed quite disjointed in an unbalanced formation, fans would be able to relate to their forward’s frustration.

It’s a sight that supporters at the Emirates have depressingly grown used to – Sanchez throwing his gloves to the floor or remonstrating after an underwhelming Gunners’ performance. While some may term them ‘tantrums’, the Chilean’s heart-on-his-sleeve attitude always makes him a player of the people.
