Lukas Podolski may have stolen the headlines with a fairytale retirement match but England fans also had a lot to take away from the 1-0 loss in their friendly against Germany in Dortmund.
In particular, the inter-play between Adam Lallana and Dele Alli shone through a spirited performance from the Three Lions. Both are technically gifted and possess an attractive style of play – supporters would have been salivating at the prospects of these two running the game at major tournaments in the future. I
t is no accident that both players are critical to the success at their respective clubs but their understanding of each other has exceeded all expectations.
Fans were not shy in gushing over the pair of aces – perhaps a future possibility for executives at Spurs or Liverpool (or even another big club) to ponder over?
Check out the praise for Lallana and Alli below:

Southgate's right – England were better tram. Alli, Lallana linked well. Fit Kane would probably get required goals. Encouraging

But, on a whole, plenty of positives for Gareth Southgate to take. Lallana and Dele Alli especially impressive.
