Maybe it’s time the senior pros picked up a thing or two from the young guns.
England’s Under-19 team sealed their participation in the next edition of the Euro Championships in style as they hammered 7-time champions Spain 3-0 at St. George’s Park.
Leading the charge for the Three Lions was Liverpool youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold who opened the scoring within 10 ten minutes before doubling the lead from the penalty spot just after the hour mark – not a bad haul for a defender.
An impressive performance was rounded off by Chris Willock’s fantastic goal, as the Arsenal winger capped off a memorable win for the hosts. The result ensured that England will finish top of qualifying group 3 with just one game to play.
Willock and Arnold-Alexander would have impressed many with their displays – maybe enough to see some game time with their respective club’s first teams? We’ll have to wait and see, but England fans can look forward to some promising talents coming through in the future.
