Picture of the Day: Celtic loanee Efe Ambrose doing the backflip while celebrating his goal for Hibernian v Falkirk

Sometimes in football, the only thing that betters a goal is a memorable celebration. Not many people remember Roger Milla’s scoring statistics but nearly everyone celebrates his famous ‘snake hips’ routine from the 1990 World Cup. The great and the good have all marked their best moments with iconic moves – some patent, some improvised – and it’s always a sight to see.

Hibernian’s Efe Ambrose seems set to join the list of players with spectacular celebrations after he scored in his side’s 2-1 victory over Falkirk in the Scottish League. The Nigerian, on loan from Celtic, has hit the ground running at Hibs and showed that he’s pretty skilled aerially as well with a picture-perfect backflip. You can understand his exuberance considering he is a defender and not pegged to score too many.

Ambrose has had a hot streak of late as he collected yet another Man of the Match accolade for his performance yesterday. Here’s to seeing more amazing acrobatics from the big man soon.
