Tottenham’s hopes of taking the title race right down to the wire were reignited after their 2-0 win over Burnley today.
The London side were a massive 10 points behind Chelsea, but their win coupled with the league leaders’ shocking 1-2 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace made huge tremors felt on the table.
Goals from Eric Dier and Son Heung-min helped their side inch closer within 7 points of Chelsea and even increase the gap over other title contenders on the table.
Burnley’s stunning home record against the top clubs had effectively given Turf Moor the tag of one of the Premier League’s best defended fortresses, but Mauricio Pochettino’s men managed to breach its perimeters in style.
The game was replete with brilliant display of individual performances from the likes of Son and Mousa Dembele, with the latter repeatedly producing some career-destroying forays in the Burnley midfield.
