Hardcore pornography was on display for a little while on Arsenal’s official Twitter yesterday

Arsenal have been going through some hard times – and the cracks are appearing even on their official Twitter account.

The Gunners issued a statement which confirmed their Twitter account had been hacked after a pornographic image had been found to be posted from said account. The lewd image was accompanied with a caption about the Arsenal squad training in Germany – some misdirection that.

Naturally the club have been quite embarassed and deleted the post quicker than Hector Bellerin sprints on the pitch, but not before social media users had a rollicking time in reacting and ridiculing Arsenal.

The tweet was posted back in 2012 and the theory going around is that the article which the tweet was originally linked to was changed by someone mischievous yesterday, so that the image preview became pornographic in nature.

Someone noticed it and the tweet was getting retweeted furiously before the admins took the action to delete it.

With the pressure on the manager and the team, Arsenal wouldn’t mind something to distract from their current turmoil. This was probably not what they had in mind, however.

Check out a screenshot of the said tweet (heavily edited of course) below.
