A touch of class
It’s not easy being Daniel Sturridge. Once considered Liverpool’s one world-class striker, the England international has more often than not found himself parked on the bench in recent times if he is not spending time on the treatment table.
Criticism of everything from his injury record to his attitude comes bounding forth from many sources but Sturridge seems ready to remind everyone what he’s really all about.
A short video clip from Liverpool’s training sessions was enough for the forward to showcase his skills. With a defender and goalkeeper rushing him from either side, Sturridge nonchalantly dinked the ball over with a superb touch – leaving his team mates to indulge in a bit of slapstick comedy as they collided into each other.
The striker then casually poked the ball into the empty net, and in doing so sends out a message that he’s ready to take on all comers. As Liverpool prepare to face Stoke with injuries to key players in their attack, Jurgen Klopp would have probably been looking at Sturridge’s goal with utmost delight.
