Pablo Hernandez is at it again. The Spaniard seems to take a professional interest in embarrassing his opponents and he’s had plenty of opportunity to do exactly that on the back of an impressive run for Leeds United. No marker is safe when faced with the prospect of the former Swansea midfielder – which Preston North End’s Ben Pearson found out first hand.
Hernandez had possession and the close attention of Pearson near the left touch-line as Leeds set up to go forward. Alfonso Pedraza embarked on a run and Hernandez chose to find him with a through ball – in more than one sense in this case as he slid the ball straight through the gap between Pearson’s legs.
Not only was the Manchester United Academy product unable to stop the forward pass, but he was rendered practically non-existent. His resigned body language after he knew he was duped said it all.
Leeds eventually battered Preston 3-0 to build more momentum as they look towards promotion with Hernandez running the attack. Will no one in the Championship stop this errant trickster from ruining other people on the pitch? We’ll just have to wait and see.
