Arsenal in the Red
Antonio Conte and Mauricio Pochettino sharing a laugh – makes you wonder what they could be cracking up over. Well they might as well be sharing a joke over mutual London rival Arsenal’s form this year, which is absolutely farcical.
With all the turmoil surrounding the Gunners this season, the supporters would have been hoping for at least a stirring response on the pitch. A comfortable win over West Ham last week proved to be a minor blip as Arsenal were soundly thrashed 3-0 by Crystal Palace. Selhurst Park was rocking with the euphoria from the home fans and unbridled frustration from the away section.
The latest result meant that Arsenal have won just 3 Premier League games in 2017 – a paltry sum by any means, and made all the more distressing when viewed in the perspective that arch-rivals Tottenham have won as many matches in just the last nine days. That’s a tough one to swallow for the Emirates’ faithful.
Arsenal’s misery seems to have no end in sight – and their bitter local enemies will probably not pass up the opportunity to rub it in.
