The end of the season is descending upon us, meaning football experts and pundits in all media outlets are scrambling to get in their predictions on a number of individual and team awards. It is no different for England’s leading sports broadcasters Sky Sports.
The Sky Sports pundits recently covered the category of the Young Player of the Year, and the overwhelming favourite to take home the trophy for a second year in succession is Spurs midfielder Dele Alli. The youngster has well and truly grown as a player this season, notching up goals and assists on a regular basis.
This is something that is not in fact lost on Arsenal legend and current Sky Sports pundit Thierry Henry.
Whilst the other pundits prefer writing at least a couple of paragraphs to justify their choice, Henry used only one sentence to make it clear just how highly he rates the Spurs midfielder.
I don’t know why he’s still in this category! But Dele Alli should win that.
The former Arsenal man clearly thinks the Spurs youngster should be nominated for the POTY rather than the YPOPTY.
