Manchester United kept their European adventure alive for this season as well as the next as they overcame Belgian side Anderlecht 2-1 in extra time to progress to the semi-final of the Europa League.
Marcus Rashford scored one of the most important goals of his career to date as he scored from a Fellaini knockdown in the 107th minute to win the game for United after Sofiane Hanni had cancelled out Mykhitaryan’s opener of the night.
While Rashford impressed upfront, another United youngster in the mould of summer signing Eric Bailly was equally impressive at back ensuring United’s solidity throughout the game.
The Ivory Coast international’s pace and recovery proved vital in ensuring that United only conceded once. Bailly’s best moment of the game perhaps came towards the end of regulated time when he outran an Anderlecht player to the ball leaving the Anderlecht player thoroughly demoralised after the contest.
