Victor Wanyama is one of those players who probably doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. Whilst Spurs fans can appreciate just how good he has been this season, he’s one of those kind of players who tends to fly under the radar, mainly because he consistently does his job for the side and little else.
He isn’t exactly a flashy person off the field either, nor is he into regular social media usage like some of his contemporaries. In fact, his most famous tweet consists of him describing how nice the spaghetti he had was. However, a recent tweet of his showed off a more philanthropic side that many didn’t know existed.
The Kenyan was recently awarded the Best of Africa role model award for all the charity work he has done in his home country. This is quite the honour, as previous winners of the award include the likes of Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure. To show his gratitude, Wanyama sent out a tweet that will definitely tug at your heart strings.

Honoured to win an award for my work helping disadvantaged children in Kenya. It is important to help those less fortunate than ourselves. pic.twitter.com/X3gPBxHE6D
