Gaetano Berardi showed he’s all Leeds by attending the premiere of ‘Do You Want To Win?’ (Photo)

The story of Leeds United is a fascinating one to say the least. Once poised to become one of England’s premier clubs in the nineties, a slew of overspending saw them incur debt that would see them drop down divisions in English football. It’s the kind of stuff one would expect to see in a movie.

Incidentally, a documentary on the club’s rise to the top of English football titled “Do You Want To Win?” recently released on DVD, and it has gotten some positive reviews. The fact that the filmmakers have access to some excellent footage helps, but they have also managed to tell a good story throughout.

The movie premiered only recently, and the premier saw current Leeds left-back Gaetano Berardi attend it. The Swiss defender has quietly become a fan favourite for a number of reasons, including taking a pay-cut to join them and travelling to games injured, and this will only raise his stock at Elland Road.

  1. Haha! He’s meeting my Dad and brother-in-law in this photo! He went along, as a friend and fan, to celebrate my dad’s 75th! You won’t find a more genuine, thoughtful guy.
