It was a historic moment when Newcastle United successfully finished their bid to gain promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
After playing 44 matches in the Championship, it was Monday’s 4-1 win over Preston which turned out to be the defining moment that helped the Magpies gain an entry back in the top flight of English football.
All Newcastle players and the management staff were understandably elated with the result of the game, and they celebrated by coming on the pitch after the final whistle.
And while there were the usual hugs and large smiles, striker Aleksander Mitrovic displayed his typical flair with his unique celebration.
Although the player hasn’t been able to dish out his famous machine gun fingers due to just 27 appearences and 6 goals this season, gaining promotion seemed to be the perfect opportunity to entertain fans by firing away on the pitch.
