Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Everton not only handed the Toffees a rare home loss, it also ensured that the Blues kept their destiny in their own hands. Despite only being four points ahead of Tottenham, all they need now is three more wins and they will once again be crowned the champions of England.
Lost amongst the emphatic nature of the victory was the fact that this game also marked Thibaut Courtois’ 15th clean-sheet of the season in all competitions. The Belgian has had a more comfortable time in goal this season thanks to Chelsea’s solid defence, but he’s still done well to make some amazing saves when needed.
The aftermath of the game this weekend also saw Courtois show off a rarely seen soft side of him. Walking up to the area of the ground where Chelsea fans were seated, the big Belgian shook hands with and handed over his shirt to a wheelchair bound young fan, much to the delight of the away crowd.
