Pic: The Celtic changing room honouring the Lisbon Lions today

Come 25th May, Celtic will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the day when the Hoops created history by becoming the first British club to lift the European Cup by beating Italian giants Inter Milan 2-1.

That legendary squad managed by Jock Stein and captained by Billy McNeill went on to be called the Lisbon Lions, named so as the game was played in Lisbon’s Estadio Nacional stadium..

Celtic have decided to commemorate this historic event by incorporating inspiration from it in their iconic green and white home kits for the next season as well.

And in the build up to celebrations marking this day, the club’s changing room dedicated an entire wall to shirts of the great Lisbon Lions. Check out the picture below –
