The presence of different power structures who have no consensus regarding an important issue never fares well for any organization, and that’s exactly what seems to have happened with Diego Costa’ future at Chelsea.
The striker was rumoured to have been interested in a big-money move to the Chinese league a few months ago, but that clearly never materialized due to willingness on his part to play on at Stamford Bridge.
While manager Antonio Conte was said to have been in favour of retaining Costa, the club’s technical director Michael Emenalo has been rumored to prefer replacing him with Everton’s Romelu Lukaku.
But the bonhomie Costa and Emenalo were caught sharing on camera just before the club’s recent award ceremony seems to suggest things are fine between the two, and Costa could perhaps spend some more time as a Chelsea player in the upcoming future.
Check out Costa and Emenalo having a conversation below –
