Victor Lindelof has established himself as one of SL Benfica’s mainstays this season and therefore, it should be of no real surprise that he is going to attract the attention of the biggest clubs in Europe.
Lindelof’s solid performance at the back has been a crucial factor in Benfica’s season where they were crowned as the Portuguese champions for a record 36th time.
Back in January, it was rumoured that Manchester United were interested in Lindelof’s services; however due to the impressive performances of Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Eric Bailly, these plans had to be shelved.
However, with Marcos Rojo suffering a cruciate ligament injury and with Phil Jones’ on-off injuries in the latter parts of the season, it is quite evident why United are looking for reinforcements in the defensive area
Lindelof in this latest Instagram post, thanks his club as well its supporters for their vehement support. And the way it has been worded makes it sound like he’s already made an exit.
The Swede will add some much needed solidity to United’s fragile backline and according to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are likely to land him this summer for £35million (including bonuses).
