It’s that time of the year when footballers pledge allegiance to their national teams again for friendly games with other countries. Switzerland had one with Belarus last night, and it ended with a 1-0 win for them.
Things get a little different when one has to switch from playing for a club and then with national team-mates, but for Granit Xhaka it looked like just another game on a football field.
The Arsenal midfielder has earned notoriety for his temperamental outbursts that have resulted in many bookings, and a similar incident took place in this match too.
Just two minutes were left for the game to end with an inevitable victory for the Swiss, when Xhaka got into a fight with Belarus player Dzianis Laptseu over some intimidation.
A push soon came to shove (literally) and the referee had to break off the dispute by showing yellow cards both players.
