Arsene Wenger must feel like the loneliest man in football. Having lost the trust of his supporters, it was surely against the narrative when Wenger was offered a new two year contract by the Arsenal board. Although Arsene has won 3 Premier League titles at Arsenal; however, the last of those came back in 2004.
But maybe, the winds of change are finally upon Arsenal. It was rumoured that Arsenal made a £87 million bid for the hottest teenager in world football, Kylian Mbappe. AS Monaco rejected the bid, but the offer shows that Arsenal are doing the right things for once. The board who are taunted as miserly, are finally trying to catapult Arsenal to their rightful place even if it means breaking some transfer records.
But it seems the lack of Champions League football for the first time in 20 years has brought out a new demeanour in Wenger.
And his recent comments during an interview with beIN Sports shows exactly that. Check out the comment from Wenger regardiing Alexis Sanchez & Mesut Ozil which is going viral amongst Arsenal fans online below –

Arsenal were once a great club. Thirteen first division titles can attest to that. Their ‘Invincibles’ side was arguably the greatest title-winning side in Premier League history. It’s time that Wenger stops defending his players and reignites the Gunners’ fire.
