Sometimes, the loyalty that a player shows towards his club, or the enamor that one harbors for the badge on his shirt, is truly heart-rending. In an era where money has become a commercial mode of success and multi-million dollar transfers signify the value of a footballer, players who stay put or reject lucrative offers from more glamorous clubs, are today a dying breed.
While rejecting offers to stay is one form of loyalty, but cutting the hedges of plants wearing the shorts of your club? Now, that’s the latest form! Celtic defender Mikael Lustig was pictured chopping the bushes of his garden as he made the most of his leisure time back home in Sweden, however, all this while he wears Celtic’s black-and-green ‘away’ trousers.

This act of the 30-year old has melted the hearts of several Celtic followers, meanwhile, his club- team-mate Nir Bitton drew some flack for the lethargic look that he wore in the picture he posted on his way to Glasgow, quoting “Summer is over…back to work in rainy Glasgow”.
