Out of all old and traditional rivalries that the Premier League is replete with, the one shared between the two huge adversaries from Merseyside is historic.
Kopites and Evertonians have been at the brink of war ever since they jostled for bragging rights within the city of Liverpool. There have been 288 meetings between the two clubs since the 1962-63 season, making it the longest running top-flight derby in England.
For Liverpudlians, the decision of whether to be Red or to don Blue is one they all have to make once in their lifetime. But some Blues fans took it too far by spreading their influence all the way to Africa!
Everton travel to Tanzania as part of the Club’s 2017/18 pre-season schedule to play a match against Gor Mahia taking place at the 60,000-capacity National Stadium on Thursday 13 July.
And it seems the Everton fans are already present in the East African nation, making the locals aware of their tradition.
