Kyle Bartley made many Swansea City supporters smile by scoring a goal during the club’s 2-2 draw against American outfit Philadelphia Union, but the larger narrative over him was dominated by his future at Liberty Stadium.
The defender has been employed by Swansea ever since he signed for them in 2012, but he has spent all these five years either on the bench mostly or out on loan at other clubs.
Things changed drastically when Bartley got a chance to prove his mettle at Elland Road after Leeds United secured his services for a year-long deal that culminated this summer.
An eventful 2016-17 season saw the 26-year old be a consistently crucial member of the team, also making him a fan favourite overnight. That is perhaps why Bartley posed with couple of supporters clad in Leeds shirts after the match last night.
