Everton their transfer record again yesterday after they officially announced the signing of Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea City for a fee of £45m.
The Icelandic star penned a 5 year deal with the club and became the eighth name to be included in the Toffee’s transfer window shopping spree.
The former Tottenham man was no doubt one of the best players for Swansea in the last three years and has a good reputation attached to him in the Premier League.
An old photo from Gylfi’s childhood posted by his brother has been making the rounds on Twitter after his move. Sigurdsson can be seen proudly posing in an Everton jersey beside Everton Legend Dixie Dean’s statue in the photo.
The throwback picture is a testament to how the Icelandic midfielder has been an Everton fan since his boyhood days.
The fans will be delighted to know that their new signing has been a supporter just like them, and expect him to be very dedicated to the club whilst contributing with his trademark assists and goals.
