Despite having by far the busiest summer in recent years, Leeds have had a terrific start to the new season and has undoubtedly been the talk of the Championship so far. And with the summer arrivals settling in quickly, the current season might just hold real promise for the Whites.
After Leeds new boy Jay-Roy Grot recently made headlines for his impressive cameo performance in the match against Nottingham Forest, another summer arrival in the mold of 19-year-old attacking midfielder Alejandro Machuca offered everyone a glimpse of his prodigious talent in a recent U-23 match against Colchester.
In what was an otherwise dull affair, a sublime piece of skill from the former Rayo Vallecano man proved to be the talking point of the match.
Alejandro showed great skill and vision as he plucked a high aerial ball to the ground with an unreal first touch and supplemented that with an excellent backheel flick to feed striker Romario Vieira who somehow fluffed his lines when through on goal.
While the match ended in a stalemate, Alejandro’s showing certainly proved to be a big positive for Leeds.
