Arsenal fans almost witnessed something spectacular within the initial moments of the game when the Gunners met Doncaster Rovers in the Carabao Cup last night.
Frenchman Olivier Giroud who has a knack for scoring absolute screamers nearly pulled off another one when he audaciously hit a perfectly weighted ball from Jack Wilshere with an overhead kick.
The acrobatic effort could have been a glorious opening goal if only the ball hadn’t cannoned off the woodwork.
And what a way it would have been for the big forward to score his 100th goal for the club.
A picturesque finish from a gorgeous ballet of orchestrated movement. Ah, bummer!
Take a look at the effort. If only, right?
