Liverpool’s pursuit of Virgil van Dijk in the summer transfer did not end well as Southampton put their foot down and refused to sell the player. But, the Dutchman’s recent social media activity could very well indicate that there might still be hope left for the Reds.
The defender was invited for FIFA 2018’s UK launch where he was supposed to play a match with YouTuber Calfreezy.
Ahead of the game, Calfreezy had tweeted: “Looking forward to the #FIFA18UKLAUNCH to play the big man himself @VirgilvDijk #YNWA.”
Apart from the fact that Van Dijk liked the above-mentioned tweet which included the words YNWA (the Liverpool anthem), what would have worried Saints fans more was another tweet by Calfreezy that soon followed: “Thanks for the FIFA 18 game today and let’s have a rematch when you’re in Liverpool in January mate @VirgilvDijk.”
Media reports suggest that the Reds could try again to sign the 26-year old in the upcoming January transfer window.
