No respite from criticism for Lovren
Liverpool’s rear guard have been abysmal since their 4-0 victory against Arsenal and with Dejan Lovren coming out to reveal his dependence on pain killers to get through games, it has invited a lot of undesirable attention.
Most recent of which was former Liverpool player Didi Hamann who trolled the defender on Twitter. Lovren has been under pressure to perform, failing to convince the Anfield faithful with erratic displays in the centre of defence.
Although Hamann’s comments are unwarranted, his tweet pretty much sums up the state of Liverpool supporters on having to contend with such a shaky backline.
After a failed transfer pursuit of Virgil van Dijk this summer, the Reds have stuck with the Croatian. However come January, that might not be the case anymore.
