Leeds fans takeover Old Trafford

The Betfred Super League Trophy Finals were contested at Old Trafford with the Leeds Rhinos emerging as comfortable winners sweeping aside Castleford 24-6. Although on-pitch matters were strictly pertaining to non-footballing realms, the Thorp Arch residents managed to make a statement to their bitter rivals.

The Leeds fans vandalised the Theatre of Dreams, etching their club name all over Manchester United’s home. Once an enticing contest in the Premier League, Leeds fall from grace has seen this fixture lose it’s shine. However that has not stopped Leeds fans from making their presence known.

A look at the Peacocks position in the Championship points table suggests that the rivalry might soon make a comeback. Till then both sets of fans might have to adhere to similar forms of banter.

Ridiculous as they may seem, it certainly makes for quite a view, particularly at a rival’s home turf.┬áCheck out the pictures below –
