While their terminologies have been a cause of confusion for many, American football and association football (or football as it is known over the world) has little in terms of similarities with both sports differing vastly from each other.
The distinction between the two though seemed to wane a little courtesy of Scottish football side Hearts in their Premiership match against Rangers this week.
The Edinburgh club seemed to execute what was a kick-off routine similar to that used in the American football league (NFL) games as Hearts players were seen blocking a Rangers striker to allow for the defender to punt a long ball forward.
The move strange as it was received a barrage of widespread ridicule from the footballing fans. Check it out below –
