Pic: Joe Cole ignores Liverpool while Chelsea & West Ham get a mention on his new Instagram account

Joe Cole has a new account on Instagram, which may not seem like big news, but the fact that he mentions his former clubs West Ham and Chelsea, and NOT Liverpool, is certainly fodder for thought.

Cole started out as a promising youth prospect at West Ham United in 1999, before Chelsea snapped him up in 2003, where for the next seven years he would become the mainstay of the side’s midfield, simultaneously winning numerous caps with the English national team as well.

However this successful run would come to an end at the turn of the decade, as Cole transferred to Liverpool. He had a torrid year, and was soon loaned out to French side Lille OSC, where he enjoyed a brief rejuvenation in his fortunes.

His return to Liverpool was not satisfactory, and in 2013, he moved back to West Ham. Cole described this stint at Liverpool as a “mistake” because of a failure to ‘connect’ with the fans; a feeling he still holds apparently, as evidenced by his Instagram account.
