Son Heung-min is not just a fan favorite among Spurs fans but also and one of the most popular players in the Tottenham dressing room. The South Korean international works very hard for the team and always plays with a smile on his face.
The 26-year-old attacker is as much a livewire off the pitch as he is on it. Spurs midfielder Eric Dier even revealed a while ago that the South Korean has a different handshake with each player in the Tottenham dressing room and does it each morning with everybody.
Son’s popularity with his teammates was on full display as he returned to Hotspur Way this week for the first time since his successful stint at the Asian Games. Son turned up at the training ground proudly wearing the gold medal he won in Jakarta, because of which he is now exempted from the mandatory national service required of all males in South Korea.
Tottenham released a video of Son’s first moments back at the club and it was clear that his teammates were really chuffed for the South Korean. The video also shows the high level of camaraderie that Pochettino has been able to build within this Tottenham squad.
Watch how Son was greeted by his teammates below:
With Dele Alli ruled out of the game against Liverpool with an injury, Pochettino will certainly be pleased to have the 26-year-old South Korean back. Son will be hoping that with the prospect of military service now behind him, he can concentrate on his football and give his best this season, starting Saturday.
