Though the season is only five matches old, the most expensive goalkeeper in the world appears to be settling in quite nicely at Chelsea.
Blues’ fans are aware that Kepa Arrizabalaga, part of a growing breed of goalkeepers comfortable with the ball at their feet, is essential to manager Maurizio Sarri’s style of play that’s based on possession play and building attacks from the back.
While the 23-year-old hasn’t had many opportunities to make saves, he looks quite assured with his footwork and has impressed with his passes, both long and short.
The Spaniard’s long range accuracy was on display during Chelsea’s 4-1 victory against Cardiff City last weekend when he casually picked out some long cushioned passes to his teammates.
Check out a compilation of Kepa’s passes from that game:
Kepa long cushioned scoop balls are unique & class. Ones to Giroud gets alot of our attacks started high up. Will be very useful to bypass high pressing teams. Will only improve aswell once he gets more settled & confident & players realise how good he is at them. Rts Appreciated pic.twitter.com/QUUAqM122i
