Steven Gerrard’s Rangers twice came from behind to draw 2-2 against Villarreal, earning a well-deserved point in their Europa League opener last night.

After falling behind inside forty-five seconds in what was an underwhelming first-half performance, a pep talk by their manager during the break inspired the visitors to come storming back into the match and equalize not once but twice.

The result once again highlighted the grit and determination Gerrard has managed to instill in his team in such a short period of time.

Fans who had traveled all the way to Spain to root for their team showed just how much the gaffer’s contribution means to them as the 38 year-old received a rousing reception from them after the game.
