Rangers played out a thrilling 2-2 draw away at Villarreal in their opening game of the Europa League group stage last night.
The Scottish giants trailed to the Spanish club twice, only to claw their way back into the game both times. The performance from Steven Gerrard’s men was really impressive considering this was the hardest group stage game on paper out of the six that they will play.
However, by the looks of it, it is not just Rangers’ performance on the pitch that left fans at the Estadio de la Cerámica impressed. One Villarreal fan took to Twitter after the game to post a video of Rangers manager Steven Gerrard shaking the hands of each one of the Villarreal players after the final whistle. While managers usually congratulate their own players after the game, it is far from customary to do the same with the opposition players as well.
Check out Gerrard’s classy gesture below:

The former Liverpool man who had a reputation of being a gentlemen during his playing days, is showing the same class as a manager too.
