Villarreal and Rangers played out a 2-2 thriller in their Europa League group stage opener on Thursday. It was a roller-coaster of a ride for Rangers fans as their side found themselves trailing twice in the game, only to equalize both times.
Fans of the Scottish giants traveled to the Spanish city in huge numbers in what was their first European group stage game in more than six years. The big Rangers contingent certainly made their presence felt in the city, before the match.
While the Estadio de la Cerámica wasn’t completely sold out, the away end was jam-packed with Gers fans. So naturally one or two Rangers fans who had made the trip to Spain, decided to sneak into the home end. Some people spotted how one Rangers fans sitting in the home end went absolutely berserk after Rangers’ late equalizer.
Usually, fans of the away side who sneak into the home end, try and stay composed so as to conceal their loyalties, but the fan in question absolutely erupted with joy after Kyle Lafferty slotted the ball into the net. Who can blame him considering how long Rangers fans have had to wait to experience a European night like this one.
See if you can spot the Rangers fan in the following video:

If Steven Gerrard’s men keep up this level of performance, Rangers fans are sure to experience more fantastic European nights this season.
