Everton fans haven’t seen much of Croatian sensation Nikola Vlasic since the Merseyside club signed him back in the summer of 2017. While the midfielder scored for the Toffees on his debut, he’s only managed to clock up 12 appearances for the team so far. After Everton bought in a whole host of signings this summer under new manager Marco Silva, the 20-year-old Croatian was deemed surplus to requirements and sent out on loan to CSKA Moscow.
By the looks of it, it appears the youngster has settled into life in Russia pretty well. CSKA faced their local rivals Spartak in the Moscow derby this weekend and 20-year-old Vlasic certainly made his presence felt.
With his side trailing 1-0 at home, the ball was played into the midfielder from the left-flank by Russian defender Kirill Nababkin. Vlasic skipped past a Spartak defender and curled the ball into the bottom corner, past a full-stretched Aleksandr Maksimenko in the Spartak goal. The classy strike by the Croatian was enough to earn his team a point as the spoils were shared in the big derby.

Vlasic has certainly impressed since the loan move to the Russian side and his goal against Spartak was proof that the 20-year-old can perform on the big stage when the pressure is on. With Everton struggling recently with back-to-back defeats to West Ham and Arsenal, perhaps the 20-year-old Croatian might have proved handy as a squad member when Everton are chasing a game.
