While Chelsea still remain unbeaten in the league, their perfect start to season ended at the London Stadium as the Hammers showed great grit to contain their opposition’s attacking prowess and claimed a deserved point in the London derby on Sunday.
New boss Sarri, who has got the Blues playing with an almost never-seen-before attacking flair at Stamford Bridge, had to watch on as Pellegrini’s men showed great resistance and tactical awareness to hold off the Blues for large spells of the game but will be ultimately disappointed with his players more for not converting when they had the opportunities to do so.
West Ham’s willingness to concede possession and hold back almost proved fatal in stoppage time as Jorginho found Willian near the six-yard box with a sublime lobbed ball. While the Brazilian has a knack for scoring crucial goals, his finishing touches totally went missing during the move as he thrashed the ball way out of target when he could have squared it to Morata and get all 3 points for the Blues so late in the game.
Check out the brilliant Messi-esque pass from Jorginho and the wayward finish from Willian below:
Peach of a ball from Jorginho, but we have seen this from Willian far too much. pic.twitter.com/SWhpQkiPVF

With his shot ending up closer to the corner flag than the goal, Blues fans would surely want Willian to raise his finishing game but were understandably full of praises for new boy Jorginho on social forums, who displayed his immense ability at finding crucial balls throughout the game and was seen as one of the few bright lights that shone for Chelsea in what was otherwise a drab derby encounter for the Londoners.
