Mesut Ozil had a summer to forget as Germany crashed out of the World Cup at the hands of minnows South Korea without even gracing the knockout stages in Russia. The playmaker then announced his official retirement from the national set-up shortly afterwards as a scandal erupted in Germany after he posed for an election campaign photograph with Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The former Galactico will surely look to put the stressful summer behind him for the Gunners this season however as new boss Unai Emery looks to restore the club to it’s former glories. The 28-year-old has also bonded well with his new teammates since coming back from his summer break and looks to have especially warmed up to pacey striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang judging by some of his social media activity.
The Gabon international had built up quite a bromance with Marcos Reus whilst at Dortmund, with their trademark superhero themed celebration a major hit during the time, and looks to have struck quite a chord with Ozil as well with the German international calling Auba a “legend” on an Instagram post of the striker with Arsenal Legend Thierry Henry.

With Ozil accused of going cold during matches at times , Gooners sure want more consistency from their star man and will hope that a good relationship outside the pitch with Aubameyang will translate to a solid partnership on it.
