While giant killings are often expected and seen in cup competitions, Manchester United seem to be developing a tendency of getting slayed more often than not with yesterday’s defeat to Frank Lampard’s Derby County the latest addition to a growing list of defeats at the hands of Championship opposition. ( Remember MK Dons anyone?)

While Mourinho did have the first strike against his former protege Frank Lampard barely 3 minutes into the game, Derby responded brilliantly, not going on the back foot and fully deserved their second half equalizer. While the goal in itself was out of this world, Reds fans would have been specifically delighted with the goal-scorer as well, especially considering United was involved.

Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson grabbed all the headlines after whipping in a Ronaldo-esque free-kick into the top corner to leave Sergio Romero rooted to his spot and also converted in the subsequent penalty shootout that unfolded.

Wilson’s brilliant contribution to knocking out their bitter rivals would have definitely delighted the Reds, and this fan footage, giving an even better view of the stunning strike from Derby’s end of the pitch should definitely improve the youngster’s stock at Anfield even more.

While it’s too early into his career at Derby County to get too excited, it’s safe to say that the youngster is in very safe hands with Lampard and if he continues to perform the way he did against United yesterday, don’t be surprised to see the young man beign called back to Anfield in the very near future.
