With the new White Hart Lane stadium still not ready to host matches, Tottenham are being forced to play their home games at Wembley, just as they had done last season.

As they get ready to host Barcelona at their makeshift home for a Champions League group stage encounter, Spurs fans would once again be reminded of what could have been had the opening of their new ground not been delayed.

Even though they are sure to come out in numbers and throng United Kingdom’s largest stadium, the supporters are not too chuffed about the state of the pitch ahead of the crucial fixture.

Last month’s boxing bout between Anthony Joshua and Alexander Povetkin seems to have left the pitch in a bad way as quite a large part of the grass appears like it is yet to recover from the battering.
