Arsenal have announced a £300 million sponsorship contract with Adidas that will see the German sportswear giants taking over as the Gunners’ official kit manufacturers from the beginning of 2019-20 season.

After being largely disappointed by Puma’s designs over the past few years, fans are thrilled about the North London club linking up with Europe’s largest sportswear manufacturers again, reviving their partnership from the 80s and 90s.

During that highly successful period in which the Gunners won two league titles, Adidas designed some famous kits for them, including the ‘bruised banana’ away shirt in 1991 that managed to achieve cult status among fans.

The news of the deal has already prompted a graphic designer to come up with a brilliant design for Arsenal’s away kit inspired by the yellow kit mentioned above. Check it out:
