(Video) Newcastle teammate called in to ask about Fortnite while Jamaal Lascelles was live on air

Newcastle United are going through a tough time at the moment with nothing going their way.

Yet to taste victory, the Toon have only 3 points to show from their first 10 matches and are struggling to get out of the relegation zone.

To make matters worse, their campaign has also been marred with fan protests against owner Mike Ashley’s running of the club.

With their highly rated manager Rafael Benitez’s future at the club not clear, the protests against Ashley are set to get intensified in the coming months.

However, through all the demoralizing losses and the negative energy surrounding the Magpies, team harmony seems to be thriving if a recent off-the-field incident involving captain Jamaal Lascelles and experienced midfielder Jonjo Shelvey is anything to go by.

The two shared a light moment when Lascelles, who recently signed a new 6 year contract to show how committed he is to the Magpies, received a surprise call from Shelvey when the former was speaking live on a radio show.

Brilliant to see the players are keeping their spirits up amidst the current turmoil surrounding Newcastle United. Check out their conversation as Shelvey asks Lascelles “What time will you be back at to play Fortnite?”:
