When Philippe Coutinho gave in to the lure of Barcelona in January 2018, Liverpool fans were left quite worried about the kind of adverse impact losing such a world class player could have on Jurgen Klopp’s team.
Thankfully, the huge void left by Coutinho’s departure was seamlessly filled by a marauding Mohamed Salah, whose record-breaking exploits in only his first season with the Reds made sure fans wouldn’t miss their Brazilian magician much.
And the 26-year-old seems to have found his groove in the ongoing campaign too as he demonstrated on Saturday by scoring a brilliant hat-trick during the 4-0 win over Bournemouth that propelled the Anfield side to the top of the tree.
Having scored 10 goals from 16 matches so far (joint highest), the former Roma forward took to Instagram and posted a picture of himself with the match ball, which prompted an appreciative response from none other than Coutinho!
Salah too acknowledged the Brazilian with a reply of his own.
